We-Ko-Pa’s Saguaro Golf Course, rated by Golf Week Magazine as the #1 golf course in Arizona, will install new concrete cart paths over the next several months. Saguaro will remain open during this time and the project is expected to be completed by the middle of October 2014.

The concrete paths are replacing the natural dirt and pebble paths that have been in place since the Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw-designed course opened in 2006. The reasons for the enhancements are simple:

  • First and foremost it is for the comfort of We-Ko-Pa’s guests. Over the years the dirt and pebble paths have eroded away due to wind, rain and irrigation. The uneven surfaces provided for dusty and rough golf car rides.
  • Secondarily, the paths are being replaced for the long term sustainability of the golf course as the dirt and pebble surface required annual maintenance and enhancement.

Even with the new concrete paths, the golf course will remain very much walkable and still have clearly marked and maintained walking paths.

Moving forward, We-Ko-Pa will look to continually improve the golf experience and add new amenities for the enjoyment of its guests.
