My Approach to teaching: Teaching for me is not just about understanding what needs to be changed. I not only look to identify the problem and provide a solution, but make sure my student understands why. Without understanding why, any swing change becomes much more difficult as the mental part of the game is just as important as the swing itself. Golf is complicated enough so I am there to provide the information that is needed without all the clutter.

My teaching philosophy starts with understanding what golf swing works for you. From there, we can find goals to achieve as we work to gain confidence in your golf swing. Gaining confidence comes from growing on the positive outcomes and learning from the negative outcomes. A golf swing is made through repetition and practice. I also teach having patience and having fun while learning your swing. Golf is meant to be challenging, so have fun and enjoy the journey.

My teaching philosophy starts with knowing what we are trying to achieve with our golf swing – that is to send the golf ball from point A to point B, using the golf club. If I can get my students to understand this simple concept, then we can move forward with an agreed upon objective. That said, if we want to send the golf ball to our target, it makes sense that we should be swinging the golf club to that same target. There are a few factors that, when combined with “swinging the club towards the target”, will help us achieve our objective.

That said, if we want to send the golf ball to our target it makes sense that we should be swinging the golf club to that same target. There are a few factors that, when combined with “swinging the club towards the target”, will help us achieve our golfing objective. All of these factors have to do with the golf club, not your body. There are so many different body types, levels of athleticism and levels of golfing skill that it would be unfair to ask all my students to swing the same way or move their bodies in the same way. However, I believe it is very possible for all golfers to be able to control the golf club and swing the club towards the target no matter your golfing ability or your level of athleticism.
