Happy New Year!
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne?
As we ring in a new year, but more importantly, bid good riddance to bad 2020 rubbish, there’s a lot to unpack in the Sunday bag that is the year-round golf season we enjoy here in the Valley of the Sun. The poem above to which we attach our New Year’s resolutions – giving wings to wishes grazing the Times Square Ball as it drops – asks us a simple question: Should we remember? Or forget?
There’s a lot to forget about 2020, surely, but in respect to golf, there’s a lot to remember. The game of golf was one of the few things we could truly enjoy in the era of masks and social distancing, and for many, it was a new way of connecting with friends and family over a cherished game.
Golf is fun. And we were reminded of it this year. And in that spirit, from Fort McDowell, Arizona, Happy New Year.
Here are a few of our favorite memories from 2020 at We-Ko-Pa Golf Club – Arizona’s Ultimate Golf Experience.
