As anyone who has played We-Ko-Pa Golf Club will tell you, one of the many things it has going for it is the incredible natural surroundings. The golf facility is located on an untouched piece of Sonoran Desert on the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation minutes from Scottsdale. This is exactly the image we set out to capture in the recently released 30-second video. It already ran a handful of times during the Ryder Cup coverage, and is slated to run on Canada’s version of ESPN – TSN – as well during Golf Channel’s early season golf programing on Thursdays and Fridays – just in time to entice golf vacationers to visit The Valley of the Sun during the winter months.
Whether it’s the Cholla or Saguaro course, golfers at We-Ko-Pa are treated to an Arizona golf experience unlike any other. The lack of housing or commercial development surrounding the courses encourages you to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Sonoran Desert.
Designed by Scott Miller, Cholla runs along desert ridges and shady arroyos to provide a desert-style test, while Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw created Saguaro to incorporate desert golf with a timeless design.
Add all this to the next-door We-Ko-Pa Resort & Conference Center, plus the Fort McDowell Casino, and We-Ko-Pa becomes one of Arizona’s premier golf destinations.
