Dear Friends of We-Ko-Pa Golf Club,
We’re sure you’ve heard or read the news out of Arizona Governor Ducey’s office today issuing Executive Order 2020-18, commonly known as the “Stay Home, Stay Healthy, Stay Connected” policy that promotes physical distancing while also encouraging social connectedness. Under this policy, golf courses – and that includes We-Ko-Pa Golf Club – have been deemed to be an essential activity and playing golf itself is designated as an “essential outdoor activity.”
According to the executive order, “all persons may leave their place of residence for essential activities,” such as playing golf at We-Ko-Pa Golf Club or other golf courses around the Valley.
Of course, we are doing everything we can to continue to provide a safe, clean, enjoyable and essential outdoor activity outlet for our guests in accordance with CDC guidelines including continually sanitizing all touch points at the club. In an effort to eliminate the necessity of removing and touching the flagstick, we have installed a foam plug to prevent guests from having to reach into the hole to retrieve their ball.
Here’s what you can expect when you book your next tee time at We-Ko-Pa Golf Club:
- Our hours for the golf shop are 6:00am to 6:00pm
- Our hours for take-out from the We-Ko-Pa Grille are 7:00am to 3:00pm. Call 480-789-8713 to place an order and for curb side pick-up.
- Beverage carts are on the golf courses.
- The Saguaro and Cholla Grilles are open for takeout and on-course takeaway services.
- We are providing complimentary bottled water in the golf carts.
- There is a foam plug in the hole to prevent the guest from having to reach into the hole to retrieve their ball.
- We have asked guests NOT to remove the flagstick while putting.
- We have removed all bunker rakes from both courses.
- We have installed hand sanitizing stations for public use in the clubhouse.
- We are spraying the golf cars with a disinfectant before and after each use by staff or guests.
